Our Story
Edyant is a deep-tech startup founded in 2025, built around a simple conviction: AI should be evaluated not just on what it outputs, but on how it reasons, who it impacts, and whether it can be held accountable.
Our name comes from the Sanskrit word udyant (उद्यन्त), meaning "that which rises" or "coming into being." It reflects our belief that responsible AI must grow from human values, lived context, and principled design — not just capability benchmarks.
Our Mission
As AI moves from research labs into healthcare, education, governance, and public life, the stakes become human: safety, dignity, fairness, and accountability. We exist to measure and strengthen exactly those qualities.
We benchmark large language models and AI systems across 15 ethical dimensions — from moral reasoning and bias to privacy, cultural diversity, and institutional governance. Our open-source frameworks, published through Edyant Labs, are built to be adopted, audited, and built upon.
Through GRACE — our Global Repository of AI Consensus — and the Consensus platform, we work with academic institutions, enterprises, and policymakers to define and advance global standards for responsible AI. The AGI Countdown Clock sitting at 11:58 keeps urgency in view.
